Quality of Life
Atherton is strictly a residential community and most homeowners enjoy quiet streets and large tree-studded lots. Many properties, particularly in central Atherton, are gated providing the residents with cherished privacy. The Lindenwood neighborhood is an exception with most homes visible from the street.
Depending on a home’s location, school-age children attend public school in the Menlo Park, Las Lomitas, Redwood City and Sequoia Union school districts. Some of the Peninsula’s acclaimed private schools are located nearby and include Sacred Heart, Menlo School and Phillips Brooks.
